Catherine Zhao

Inspired to Strive, Serve, Excel

Year 6 in 2015

Catherine ZhaoCatherine is a tremendous competitor in the pool has had amazing success over the past 12 months: she won gold in the 11 year old State 50m Butterfly and silver in the butterfly at the School Sport Victoria 2015 Swimming Finals as well as a swag of medals at Victorian Country level. In 2015 she was selected in the School Sport Victoria Team Vic to compete in the Pacific School Games later this year.

However Catherine is most impressive as a swimmer out of the pool. She trains six mornings with her swimming club and she is a very humble athlete who always gives praise and thanks to her coaches and fellow swimmers for the support they give her.

A newcomer to running in 2015, Catherine made State Cross-Country finals after winning the Western Region final in Warrnambool.

Academically Catherine excels in all areas, particularly Mathematics, and she is fluent in English and Mandarin.

With little spare time in her busy schedule, Catherine finds time to volunteer and help coach younger Junior School students during weekly lunchtime swimming sessions at School.

These are impressive qualities for someone of Catherine’s age.
