  • BURSARIES

    Isolated Childrens’ Bursaries for families who are eligible for the Federal Government Assistance for Isolated Children Scheme (AIC) may be considered for a Bursary where the student is not the recipient of any other Bursary or Scholarship. Please email [email protected]

  • Named Scholarships

    Through Named Scholarships and bursaries, Ballarat Grammar families generously provide the gift of education to future generations. Beyond financial support, Named Scholarships leave a valuable legacy for future generations of Ballarat Grammar families.

    Named Scholarship and Bursary funds include The Rob and Di Olston Boarding Scholarship Fund and The Ford Guthrie Scholarship Fund.

  • BOARDING GENERAL EXCELLENCE BURSARY

    BOARDING GENERAL EXCELLENCE BURSARY REGISTRATIONS NOW OPEN

    • We have a high level of interest for boarding in all year levels in the coming years, so early enquiries are strongly recommended.
    • Boarding General Excellence Bursaries are open to students who demonstrate general excellence through their capacity to contribute to the life of our school in the broadest sense. We are looking for a record of contribution and achievement in a range of areas such as sport, community service, leadership and the arts, as well as academic potential.
    • Boarding students are also invited to sit for any of the above scholarships.
    BOARDING GENERAL EXCELLENCE BURSARY
  • ACADEMIC

    REGISTRATIONS FOR 2025 ENTRY ARE NOW CLOSED

    • Testing for entry in 2026 will take place at Ballarat Grammar on Saturday 26 October 2024
    • Testing is conducted by the Edutest group, each student is provided with a diagnostic report of their achievement on the test.
    • Scholarships are open to students entering Years 4 to 11 in 2026.
  • ART AND DESIGN

    REGISTRATIONS FOR 2025 ENTRY ARE NOW CLOSED

    • Testing for entry in 2026 will take place at Ballarat Grammar on Saturday 26 October 2024
    • Opportunities within the curriculum are provided for students from Year 7 to Year 12 to participate in the following studio areas: Ceramics, Digital Media, Painting and Drawing, Systems Engineering, Printmaking, Visual Communication, Design, Product Design, Textiles.
  • Dance and Drama

    REGISTRATIONS FOR 2025 ENTRY ARE NOW CLOSED

    • Students who display a special aptitude and potential in Dance or Drama and are entering Years 7 to 11 in 2026
    • Testing for entry in 2026 will take place at Ballarat Grammar on Saturday 26 October 2024
    • Opportunities to be involved in the Performing Arts are provided through class electives, VCE Dance, VCE Theatre Studies, school productions and specialist workshops. Successful candidates will be expected to take every opportunity to be involved in the Performing Arts within the curriculum and participate in school productions.
  • Music

    REGISTRATIONS FOR 2025 ENTRY ARE NOW CLOSED

    • Testing for entry in 2026 will take place at Ballarat Grammar on Saturday 26 October 2024
    • Students who display a special aptitude and interest in voice or music and are entering Years 5 to 11 in 2026.
    • Auditions are available on all instruments. A minimum standard applies for most instruments – applicants should have no less than three years’ experience or provide a reference of recommendation from their instrumental teacher. Pianists should be at least Grade 5 AMEB standard or equivalent. Students may audition on more than one instrument.
    • A scholarship includes individual music tuition by one of our specialist Music teachers. Musical opportunities are provided through various ensembles including orchestras, concert bands, classical and contemporary ensembles, choirs and chamber groups.
    • Successful candidates are expected to participate in at least two ensembles in discussion with the Director of Music.

     

    OTHER MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS

    DON HUNTLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

    • Open to exceptional pianists – Grade 7 or higher.
    • Applicants will present two contrasting pieces demonstrating proficiency and complete an aural test which includes general musicianship knowledge.

    PIPE ORGAN SCHOLARSHIP

    • Open to any student interested in studying the pipe organ.
    • We are especially supportive of experienced pianists.
