

Sport Programs
The Ballarat Grammar Sport Program caters for students of all ability levels, from the beginner to the elite athlete, with a strong emphasis on participation. The program is closely aligned with Grammar’s core values; teamwork, sportsmanship, respect, effort, pursuit of excellence, fair play, enjoyment and participation.
A wide range of sports is offered each term and coaching is provided by school staff and in some cases, qualifi ed student coaches or community members. The school is fortunate to host visiting national sportsmen and women to speak to our students. They are role models for the students and encourage skill development, maintenance of physical fi tness and enjoyment.
Ballarat Grammar offers outstanding recreational facilities including an indoor heated pool, gymnasium, games gym, tennis courts, cricket nets, basketball courts and several ovals in immaculate condition.
The Ross Perrier Watersports Centre on Lake Wendouree caters for rowing, sailing, canoeing and other water activities when possible or facilities are sought elsewhere to facilitate the program.
Inter-house and inter-school sports events are an integral part of the Sport Program and all students are encouraged to participate, regardless of their ability. For the serious performers, there are opportunities to participate in inter-school sport, with carnivals held during school time across traditional sports such as Athletics and Swimming. Most sport is held on weeknights after school and students compete in the Ballarat Associated Schools (BAS) Competition annually.
Regional, interstate and even international sport tours provide opportunities for students to enjoy the experience of travelling as part of a team.
