Mindshop excellence

Following a training day at the BLX, Camp Street, Four teams of students from different schools, were given their waterrelated task:
To reduce potable water consumption in your school by 15% by providing a management plan in which the school can adopt 'real actions' and implement your program. (The 15% saving is to be above any current water saving programs adopted at school).
The Ballarat Grammar team worked for the School as consultants, and presented their report, firstly at the School and later as an abridged version at the Ballarat Town Hall, prior to presentation of certificates by the Mayor.
Easter Eucharist for the whole School

The Bishop of Ballarat, Michael Hough, is the ceremonial leader of the Grammar community.
Here he leads the school in celebration of Easter, the most important festival of the Christian year.
All school choirs and a group of talented young dancers added to the vitality and colour of the celebration.
Mid Year Dance (AKA Wookstock!)
Years 10, 11 and 12 students enjoyed the formal dance that has succeeded Boatrace Ball as the major feature of their annual social calendar. This is the second year that the stage area of the WCPA (the Wookie to some) has been the excellent venue for music and dancing for the event.
Student musicians and DJs entertained alongside professional performers. The "Red Carpet" was graced by about 400 student revellers - in gorgeous gowns, top hats and even some silver topped canes. Thanks must go to Mr. Ian Riethoff for his meticulous organization, to the MIS students for their technical support and for the Year 9 students who took charge of "cloaks" and refreshments.
The orderly and efficient evacuation of the building in the early stages of the evening was entirely unexpected, but was just another example of the cooperation, maturity and good humour of the School family - all very much in evidence for the rest of the night!

Ballarat Grammar hosted the first Round Square conference for primary school students at its Melbourne City Cite. Participating schools included Scotch Oakburn (Launceston), MLC (Sydney), Billarnook College, both campuses of Ivanhoe Grammar, both campuses of Mowbray College and the Ballarat Grammar Junior School.
Highlights included workshops with the Oaktree Foundation, youth-based global social activists, kayaking and cycling along the Yarra, exploration of the urban environment from public transport to the Collingwood Children's Farm and possibly the most exciting visit, the tour of Parliament House which was kindly hosted by Dr. David Davis.
