Year 12 in 2015

Elizabeth WilsonElizabeth strives to be the best she can be across a range of areas. As Art Captain in 2015 she leads by example. She has achieved multiple awards for her artwork and writing in recent years and is committed to serving the School and general communities with a track record of Service activities that includes doorknocking for the Salvation Army, contributing to various projects for Anglicare and the Red Shield Appeal, contributing to the WM Bolitho Art exhibition.

In 2014 Elizabeth tried her hand at film-making and her enchanting and beautiful short film Woolgathering (‘To Daydream’) was launched at Presentation Night 2014. Woolgathering follows a young girl, who journeys on a dreamlike adventure to a place of freedom and simplicity and thus brings the audiences into a world beyond their own. The materials used include a Sony HD DSLR camera, and a steadicam. The main inspiration was Benjamin Dowie, notably his short film Dauðalogn. This film essentially depicts to a contemporary audience the beautiful simplicity of nature and the innocent curiosity of childhood.

Elizabeth’s other interests outside the School include writing, animals and classical music and she participated in the Beaufort Art Club exhibition.
