Old Grammarian visits from the United Nations

The Middle School Leaders were honoured to host Mr Matthew Coghlan, Old Grammarian (1996) who is the Spokesperson for the Environment for the United Nations based out of New York City. He spoke passionately to the students about their role in climate change; the power of their voice and the necessity for them to act now.

Matthew provided them with clear strategies and pathways to impact the direction that we collectively take with how we engage with the environment and the requirement for their voice to be heard. The young people in our community are increasingly going to lead us on issues such as these and we need to all listen to their voice and be prepared to respect their demand for change. In the Middle School we are going to empower students to drive a strong agenda around this issue to effect meaningful and lasting change.

Thanks to Matt for such an inspiring visit!
