Community Connections
Service is one of the pillars on which a Ballarat Grammar education is built, and the ethos ‘from those to whom much is given, much will be required’ is lived in our community.
Ballarat Grammar enjoys more than 150 community partnerships and projects through the provision of service and sharing of facilities and resources. These relationships are many and varied and often provide students with opportunities to contribute to community groups and programs through active involvement and participation.
The current Community partners who will be able to access the new Rintel Centre include:
- AFL Goldfields T1 Special Auskick Centre
- Basketball Ballarat
- Hockey Ballarat
- Greater Western Victoria Rebels
- Various community sports teams and athletic groups
Through the Outdoor Education Program, we aim to expand further and provide more significant opportunities for students to experience the personal benefits of community service through meaningful local connections and relationships. We have commenced preliminary discussions with community groups in the surrounding areas of the new Outdoor Education Centre to forge beneficial partnerships and programs to support the local communities and create service opportunities and experiences for our students, including Ararat Rural City Council and Parks.
“ When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect” – Aldo Leopold, described by some as a founder of the ecology movement.
