The Year 6 students and teachers invite ALL members of the Ballarat Grammar Junior School community (and their friends and families) to join them for the presentation of the Year 6 Primary Years Programme Exhibition on Wednesday October 10 (official opening at 6.30pm) and/or Thursday October 11, during the school day.
This is the School’s fourth experience of Exhibition and the first time the Year 6 team are exploring the ‘Where we are in place and time’ transdisciplinary theme. Our Year 6 learners have been working hard all term to broaden their thinking around this theme, identifying and investigating big ideas and significant issues, as well as developing specific transferrable skills as they make visible the learning process of Exhibition. The formal invitation, designed by Year 6 student Dayne Schnyder, is included above.
Whilst the Year 6 student learning will be on display, students from all year levels and their families are encouraged to come along to see how the PYP culminates in the Exhibition Unit.
In the past few years, parents, students and visitors have reported that they’ve been amazed by the sophistication of thinking and research as well as the high level communication skills on show. For some parents of our very youngest learners, a visit to the Exhibition has helped them to better understand what the PYP curriculum model is all about. Year 5 students, in particular, are encouraged to attend to gain insight into the opportunities and expectations that will be on offer for them next year.
