The Bishop of Ballarat is the President and the ceremonial and spiritual leader of the School.

The Very Reverend Chris Chataway

Archdeacon of Ballarat (Ex-Officio), MTh, BTh, DipPS, Current Parent

In his Ex-Officio position as Archdeacon and Dean of Ballarat, Fr Chris serves on various Diocesan committees and has special interests in governance, technology and the Music Program at Grammar.

Dr Maryann Brown

Involved in teaching and teacher education since 1985, Dr Brown’s interests include special education, literacy, curriculum, mentoring, youth leadership and rural community development.

Mrs Sarah Lia

Mrs Lia’s legal experience has been invaluable in guiding discussions in any matters of a legal nature. She also holds a special interest in preserving and celebrating the heritage of both of our great schools.

Dr David Mackay

Dr Mackay has a strong background in Applied Economics, Business IT and tertiary teaching. He is a commercial pilot and aviation instructor and has significant experience in agriculture and Board governance.

Mr Ewen Nevett

Mr Nevett has engineering qualifications, project and change management skills acquired at VicRoads. His interests include local corporate governance and being involved in Grammar’s Rowing Program and the Ballarat & Queen’s Old Grammarians’ Association.

Assoc Professor Robyn Pierce

Mathematics and statistics education has been Professor Pierce’s recent focus. She has extensive experience in research and publications as well as strong mentoring skills.

Mr Geoff Ryan

Mr Ryan has a strong background in community development work and recreation and a commitment to rural communities. He also has a keen interest in marketing, analysis and master planning.

Mr Michael Unwin

With 27 years of experience in viticulture with an emphasis on growing and making wine in Western and Central Victoria, Mr Unwin brings strong business and entrepreneurial skills to his role as a Board member.
